I just bought a set of Progressive 412's from a member here. They're the Heavy Duty set. Haven't received them yet, but I've heard good reports on them, and that's why I jumped on them when they were offered for sale.

There is a list of brands for you to consider here.
Rear shocks get a lot of discussion in the Touring forum. Best advice seems to be to consult your chosen supplier and get them to set your new shocks up for you, rather than trying to do it yourself.

Running the Progressive 412HD full covers. I'm 220 and running the shocks at the lowest setting. Didn't change that setting even with all the touring gear on for the Sturgis trip. Was a comfortable ride. When she is stripped down, the shocks don't give much.. but I don't mind. Don't think I've taken her out 2-up with the 412s yet... but a couple of clicks would be plenty.

I bought a set of Hagons standard shocks, gave them my weight and the weight of my occasional pillion. They built the shocks to suit, i also went 1/2" longer than stock, although not much longer it does speed up the steering and gives a little more ground clearance. At £108 / $ 179 ish shipped to the door i,m more than pleased in the ride / handling department.
