Default Curing a new chrome exhaust

I have my 08 FXDC sitting in the kitchen (one benefit of being single) awaiting the installation of it's new chrome supertrapp 2/1. I seem to remember on previous installations curing the new pipe. This systems has full coverage heat shields but are there any curing tips I should follow? Heat cycling, hi-temp paint on the inside of the head pipes, etc? I remember the cleaning of any greasy fingerprints.

Thanks.

OMG - Put the pipes on, find a girlfriend and whatever pipes you are worried about will cure themselves!

wipe them down with windex before you run it after the install, or you will permantly burn in any oil and finger prints..

What they said. Install the pipes, clean them up, and ride the S.O.B.

Oh yeah... Post pictures. Would really like to see what it looks like in the kitchen...

+1 on the windex before running them thing......didn't do that once on an old CB900 I was putting chrome headers on.....fingerprints and smudges permanently burned into the pipes.

It they have heatshields I wouldn't worry about treating them at all....if you plan on running without the shields or ever get pipes without em - you can spray high temp paint on the inside of the headers and let it dry before you mount em up (I think they even make a special coating for this too).......I did that on a set of the original Sampson big guns (no shields) and they hardly blued at all - had em on for about 2 years.
