Hey guys, I bought the regular HD smoked signal lens covers for my 09 street bob, pack of 4, 4 orange bulbs. My bike is a 09 street bob with the red signal lenses in the back and led light on the fender, so I wanted to buy red colored dual filament bulbs to put in the rear signals under the smoked lenses. I didn't think that would be hard to find, but I was pretty surprised when the dealership said nobody makes them and I'd have to buy some kind of stop/turn signal module for it to work with single filament bulbs. Now, correct me if I'm wrong but when I hit my brakes, the rear signal lenses already light up along with the center light, it was like this from the factory, so why would I need the module? Did he just not know the 09 street bob already had this or am I missing something? And does any of you guys know if it's possible to find the red colored dual filament bulbs that I've been looking for? I know I could go with LEDs but wanted to stay cheap for now at least, thanks.

 

my rear markers don't come on with the brake, and i doubt yours do either. should come with amber lenses off the showroom floor. your dealer is correct in their advice as to what u need to get if you want the rear markers to fire with the brake. if you are set up that way already.....did u buy it new like that?

 

Yeah, I bought it new like this so I just figured that all 09 street bobs were like this. I just checked again right now, when I hit the brakes, all of the lights come on in the back, signals included and they have red lenses. Hmm.

 

I went down the same exact path. Ended up going to LED's so I could use the smoked lenses.

 

Autolumination.com has 1157 dual element red bulbs. I have used these on my bike and the nightser i had before it. They work fine. Just scroll down about 2/3 to 3/4 down the page on the link below. They also have led's that might work. I did try the matrix II style bulbs they have on the same page and you have to almost destroy the light reflecting cone to get them to fit all the way in the base.

My 09 Street bob works the same way as yours and they are factory. The signals are brake/turn/tail light combo's
