So i had the pipes on for about 2 weeks and the fricken heat shield fell off of the lower pipe. It has been almost a month now and Vance and Hine is saying that the piece if back ordered and going to take 6 weeks to ship. Two months for the "supposed" best pipies in the industry. Instead of replacing the pipes they want to ship me just the peipce which is "back ordered". Two months riding a bike that looks like crap because one pipe is chrome and the other is blued. The pipe was installed by the dealer so they are making all of the call and dealing with Vance and Hines.

There is three clamps on each of my heat shields (straightshots). I cant see how they would all loosen up that much to fall off. Sounds like somebody goofed. I did a re tighten job on mine after about 100 miles and they werent that loose.

The welds came undone that welded the heat shield brackets to the pipes. One came undoen and the others broke on my way back to the dealership to show them this.

 

What VH pipes were they?

 

Big Shot Staggered....They sound awesome......I love the way they sound......I am just upset for obvious reasons.

 

damn,now i would be pi44ed to[:@].who ever installed them f$#ked up big time.so i would be taking that one up with the dealer.because i installed mine myself and thier was 3 or 4 hose clamps on each sheild.so someone installed them like sh4t.vances & hines,is thinking the same thing.if its installed wrong,hows it are fault.so thats why thier dragging thier feet.and taking forever.so i would be kicking in the dealers door,saying replace or repair.or give me a demo til its fixed.because you screwed it up.and my bike looks like sh4t.argue with them and usally they will give you a demo,to shut u up in the middle of the show room.and when they do.watch how fast that heatsheild will arrive.less then a week gauranted

 

I am not to shy of that right now.........I have had many issues with this bike so far......the stupid streaeing column lock, the saddlebag emblems, the ring around the key hole that was removed to readjust the lock and the bike came from Harley with a huge blemish on the tank and I am waiting for that as well.....

 

I put mine on also, sounds like they really tightend them to the point of cracking the welds.
I'll be honest, I used to break and strip **** all the time until I learned the hard way. Now I'm very careful, especially with my bike.
