have been lookin into a backrest for my 09 fatbob... the haulenass backrest far and away looks best but the website says that it will not work with my stock seat... beleive it or not, i like the stock seat and would like to keep it... is there anyway to modify something so that the haulenass backrest would work?

 

just found an old thread that said something about the haulenass model for the fxdb would work with the fatbob... did not mention whether or not the stock seat was still used... has anyone tried this yet?...i really like the look of the haulen *** unit, would consider buy a new seat providing i could find a seat that retains the same riding position...

The reason the Haulen *** Backrests don't work with the Stock Fat Bob seat is because 1. the seats mounting tab is too wide to work with our bracket and second since the Fat Bob is shorter in length than all the other 2 up seats the backrest would be half a mile behind the seat.

 

gotcha... thanks... so, basically, i gotta get another seat... any recommendations on a seat thats close to the fit i have now?

 

You can use any other seat that fits Dyna's and our backrest will work with it. Mustang, cobra, and le pera all seem to make some low profile seats that should look like the stock seat.... they are just a little longer in length than yours.
