My last big trip included 700+ miles of wet. Didn't have any problems with the bike.

Thanks for the post. Like what you did a lot! I'm not a skull fan but thats purely a personal taste kind of thing. The open filter looks great though.

I already had SE street performance pipes - so I decided to take it on over to the dealer for the download. It might not be an overwhelming power upgrade but I will say she is running pretty f#ing sweet. My 30T tranny pulley should be arriving this week. Once I install that - I think that will do me for this round of mods.

The AC cover look isn't anything new but I thought I'd post before and after pics anyway. I went with the chrome backplate to contrast the black heads.

Nice.

I did something similar with my own flavor added, love the open look.

Vinsil - nice personal touch. That another thing I liked about the open filter - doesn't take much to change up the insert for a different look.

I have the same setup.......I really like the look but I do get a bit nervous riding in the rain........I have a HD smooth cover I throw on when I'm travelling just in case I get stuck in a downpour

What is the plate behind the insert. Did you just cut the center section out of you OEM cover. If so, how did you finish off the cut edges?

Getting ready to buy a Big Sucker with one of the wrinkle covers from Lucky Dog (http://www.luckydog13.com/parts.html). Was curious about getting caught in the rain, but after seeing the comments here and using common sense, shouldn't be much of an issue. Thanks for the thread.

Hey there thanks for the thread!

Is there an a/c that is better protected against the rain or it just doesn't matter much?
