Default Drag bike mods

My first trip to the track a couple of weeks ago had a best of 12.74 @ 104 mph. I had trouble launching and my shift lite was unreliable, so I have made some mods. I put the old original rear shocks back on and made some brackets to mount a lowering strap on the front fork lowers. That should keep the bike from rocking back quite so hard. I put on a Pingle kill switch and a Dynatek shift light. I now have a Bare Bones solo seat so I sit lower down in the bike. The shifter pic shows my Power Commander quick shifter which allows awesome clutchless shifts........

nice job!
Watch your rear tire pressure and rear shock adjustments to help tune your launch.
Keep an eye on the 60 foot times to find what the bike likes and dislikes.
What feels good to you isnt always the best, the slip will show you.
Have fun!

That little module you see on my shift linkage is a pressure switch that makes when I lift the shift lever with my foot. It plugs right in to my PCIII. The Power Commander program is set so that anytime above 5000 rpm the module is "made" the ignition/ fuel injection will be killed for so many milleseconds. That unloads the tranny enough to allow a clutchless shift. It works awesome but only time will tell what I am adding wear to. I set mine at 85 MS to start, have since lowered it to 75 MS. I talked to a guy at the track who set his racing Buell at 64 MS......

I don't care how your doing it. I'm just glad to see another guy running an American bike at the track. Watching the sea of hyabusa's and ninja's get really old....fast.

You know its funny but out here in Phoenix the American bikes make a very good showing. We have a HD and Buell quarter mile club newsletter ( with 80 members) and they are organizing to join Team Firebird and run the Summit bracket racing series this year.........

Have you tried stiffening the rear shocks to get less squat launching??
