It will be a bit worse for following ruts and rain grooves, but turn-in response will be better (quicker). Coming from a 19, it won't be a night & day difference.

Default My 2 cents

I went from a 19 to a 21 skinny and I went back to my 19 because I hated how it tracked through grooves or uneven roads (cracks ect.) It did look cool but I like having more rubber on the ground especially when I'm hauling *** around the twisties. They do make wider 21" rims that will hold a wider tire. I believe someone said that they bought a rim through Jireh Cycles that was wider and did not have any clearence issues. Go search the threads for 21" wheels. Good luck

I had a differant experience when I changed.
I changed from a stock dunlop 19", to a 21" metzler 90/90, and found that it wasn't near as likley to track rain grooves an such.
If fact I was very impressed on how it ignored seams ,cracks, and rain grooves..
I really felt handling over all, greatly improved.

I agree with Ronnr. It depends which tire you run. I was very happy with the 21/90 Dunlop Ellite III I ran last year. Wheel always felt planted, and never followed grouves like the stock Dunlops.
That being said, this year I'll be running a 21X 3.5 wearing a 120 Avon Cobra. Progression never stops LOL .

BTW, if your going to a wide glide front end, I'll be selling the laced wheel and tire. Tire has about 2,000mi.

I was thinking about going wide glide...most of my buddies are fans of the fat front tire like a fatbob.....but I think i will save that mod for the day when i am tired of the new look....mustang solo seat, 21" spoke wheel and I'm done for a while.
