I can't say I blame folks for supporting "Made in the U.S.A". They are both good products. Just priced too high for my wallet.

Here's my modified jack.
Lifts my '14 Street Bob no problem.

I assume you guys are using grade 8, 1/2" dia bolts? Just seems like a lot of weight hanging entirely on the strength of those bolts. Anybody had any bending over time? I may need to keep the bike on the lift for a few weeks at a time while doing mods.

Is there a temporary mod I can do to the red jack? I have one I can borrow for my 98 fxdl but I can't permanently change it

Just use it, as-is. You might need to add wood blocks.

I think this might have been posted elsewhere in the thread:

I've had mine on my modified lift since November...no issues at all.

No reason to assume. I think I stated in my very first post I was using grade 8, just for that little piece of mind, and I also may have mentioned it in the attached video in first post.

Yes we are using grade 8 bolts that are 1/2" dia. It's a little overkill because each bolt would be holding ~150-175lbs.

Appreciate it. Yeah, I didn't realize how strong 1/2" grade 8's are. Each bolt can handle more than the entire weight of the bike, in both tensile and shear loading. I like having peace of mind though.
