Default Explain this "Stage" thing to me...

So I havent done a ton of searching so dont grill me up on this one, but what the explaination of each "stage". So currently I have Rush full exhaust, I am ordering a SE Heavy breather, and a Powercommander V. So what "stage" does this fall under and why? Not that it matters, im just curious.

It's just a loose term for different levels of a build. Stage 1 would be air filter, pipe and tuner, cams get you stage2, heads would be stage3. On heads the stages are different for each porter.

Pipes/Breather and SERT = Stage 1

AFAIK you can run the Pipes without the tune, but if you get a Highflow filter you need the Download or you'll be running to lean.

Stages is a HD marketing term for the various SE upgrade packages they offer. It changes from year to year, AF/download being stage one, cams/headwork/tune, etc in higher stages. You'd have to look at the current CVO parts catalog to find out what's in them today. They are just a bucket of SE parts, some buckets bigger, some smaller.

Your set of mods don't match up with any of them, which is irrelevant because you aren't using SE parts. You are perhaps equivalent to what is provided in stage one.

I think he listed a PCV, which I assume is loaded with the MAP corresponding to the parts.

Stage equates to the number of dollars $US that you spend trying to make your H-D perform faster than someone else's,. I.E. $1000 = stage 1 - $2000 = stage 2 $3000 Stage 3 etc., etc., etc.,

.....and I'm only half joking
