Default new sissy bar... with purpose!

so it is ugly and wild looking on bike, but it is detachable, cheap, and it serves a purpose. planning a 4000 mile trip this summer, so I wanted a bag rack that would support my T-bag, and make everything easy off and on the bike.

everything fits up perfect, and with the detachable side plates, the bag and everything comes off in seconds. not bad for $9.05

what do you guys think? it is just 1/2" x 1/2" square stock if anyone is interested. really easy project.

haha! thanks. last year my pack was huge! so wide I barely fit on bike. this year I am going with the reach for the sky approach.

Are you making it out to the Smokeout in Santa Rosa? you can see it in action there!

I'll send you $20 to make me one like that! I dig it! the only thing cooler is if you could twist it and then have it come to a point at the top! Again, I would send you $20 to make me one.....

now that wouldn't be much fun if I did it for you! besides, something that long would be all sorts of expensive to ship! haha!

Ok, since you turned down my $20 where do you purchase the materials needed?? I already have a detachable sissy bar on my bike but I have a pretty low sissy bar and the bag I want to use (my old ruck sack) is too big so i need something taller, like you've made.

Where do i purchase the materials, the 1/2"x1/2" square stock?
How do I bend??
I don't have a welder so how did I get those supports in the middle? Will duct tape work?? (that was supposed to be funny please don't take offense)

Thanks

Find a place that does wrought iron fencing. They have the square stock and can bend or twist. All they need is your sissy bar to get the width and angles to go in your mount. Then all you have to do is drill and tap the holes.
