Form follows function, very nice. Did you form that yourself?

Do you simply cut it to size, heat it up in hot water, then hold the form till it cools?

Kydex is what they make knife sheaths and holsters from, it works easy with heat gun or oven.
I traced out a patern from the base of the filter as its a little larger than the top, then cut it out with a jig saw, then sanded the edges with 80 grit, found a drill bit that just fit through the bolt hole in the filter and started a pilot then drilled the hole for the mounting screw, then I bolted the kydex to the filter and placed in the oven at 225 degrees for about 20 minutes. then formed it how i wanted but this did not work so well, them i bolted the air cleaner cover over the kydex and filter with a washclothe inbetween to help it hold the shape I wanted. again 20 minutes in the oven, let it cool and had one spot that needed a little tweeking I did this with a hair dryer on high took a little for it to soften up heat gun would work better. here is a picture of the first mold attempt.

one question, if it needs heat to form, will it keep the shape that you make or will it change because of outside temp or the temp from the motor?
