Well, first of all make sure you have the Torx Plus bits and not the regular Torx! (Learned the hard way one stripped fender strut bolt later...) I wanna say those bolts are 27 but I could be wrong. If you get the Torx Plus set it will be in there. They are just a bit harder to find.
I have the torx set from Stanley . they have worked very well , way beyond my expectations . And , I never heard of Torx plus . But , yeah , it's a T40 .

So how do you know if they're Torx or Torx Plus? Does the service manual identify which are used where?
Thanks everyone. It is indeed a T40.
The right side bolt came out easily enough using a little muscle.
The left side, not so much. Stripped
Time to call in someone more talented than me.

The MoCo uses Torx Plus bolts, not regular Torx. Each one is slightly bigger than their regular Torx counterpart. So if the bolt is not in there REALLY tight, often times a regular Torx bit will work. But what I found is that when I bought my bike new it was like they put the freakin things in with an impact wrench, thus my stripped bolt. Then I ended up having to take it into the dealer to get it removed. Hmmmmmm......you don't think that's what they had in mind when they decided to use the Torx Plus do you???? Nah....I'm sure that's not it!!
