Default Recommendations for SG seat with backrest, solo or dual

I just got back from a nine day ride using the stock seat on my 09 Super Glide
and I am interested in finding a seat with a backrest. (Surprise, huh? )

The stock seat did not cause me any tail problems (although it could have used
more padding), but I need some sort of real back support.

This trip was OK because I had enough stuff strapped on that I could lean against
the load and stay relatively comfortable, but I won't carry that much most of the
time and it's obvious that my back would be happier with more support.

I'm open to going to a solo seat with pillion or a dual seat with front backrest.
I want to keep some sort of padded cover on the passenger area as the type of
loads I carry on long hauls would screw up a fender with a bib. I use the removable
sissybar as a key piece to strap everything to so whatever I do that will have
to stay.

I'm looking for an off-the-shelf or near OTS solution, not custom made.

Any suggestions?

This is basically what my long distance loading looks like..

I use a Mustang Vintage Solo with matching rear pillion. Comfort is fantastic. Infinitely superior to the stock seat. I commend you for riding 9 days with the stocker. The matching pillion can be bought in a 9 or 12 inch version. I use the pillion for the same purpose you are describing.

I ride my bike 95 percent of the time with the solo seat and prefer it, however when doing trips, (of taking passengers of course), the pillion comes on and I strap bags over it etc...when I get to the destination and want to ride around the town, the pillion comes off and my bike is a lean mean solo machine.

Cheers,

Tom

Thanks for the feedback, Zerofivefour..

The local stealer had a "Try A Seat Day" that I went to just before my trip.

They heavily advertised it making it sound like a truckload sale, but it turned
out that they didn't have anything other than the same lame selection that
they always have. I think I embarrassed the parts manager and he's ordered
in a Mustang Solo on spec for me to take a look at. I'm just not sure WHAT
Solo seat he's got and, being that it's the stealer, I'll bet he wants something
well over internet prices..

But I'll see what he's got just to find out what it may be.

I love my C&C Fastback with removeable backrest. Comfortable and still looks good on the bike. I attach a small bag to it when just need a little room and sit it on the passsenger area.
