Here's my new problem. When I accelerate hard, 50% throttle or more, my motor makes a bunch of noise and feels like it's missing. The sound is alot like when stones kick up under your fender (no that's not all it is) and seems to be coming from the primary side.
I figure I'll start looking under the primary cover and go from there, I was just hoping someone else has remedied this before. Without it costing a bunch of $$$!

Sounds like detonation.

 

1st 2nd and 3rd for sure. Too much wind at 4-6 to tell.

 

Paul, am I right in thinking that detonation would be a rythmic ping, vice a sporadic tink? I mean, it literally sounds like four or five stones tinking off the fender.

Premiuim all the time. I go as far as to fill up a 5gal can and fill the bike at home to avoid getting too much of the last guy's gas. I rarely fill my bike at the pump.

 

That sure sounds like pinging to me. Do you have a tuner on your bike? Does it do it cold or only when hot?

 

Your gonna hear detonation mostly under load...is this when you hear it?Specially at low rpm and hard load as in up a hill or acceleration in a high gear...

 

I noticed it most today pulling out cold, and it kept up for the rest of the ride (cut it short so I didn't f^ck anything up too bad).
I run a fuelpak. I thought I was running a bit lean and got new settings from thier techs a few weeks ago, I don't feel as much heat, and it seems to run better but it could be in my head. Should I go back to the original settings and see if that's the deal?
