Default WTF 06 BOB problems

I took off my primary cover and found teeth missing from the sprocket on the back side of the clutch hub. Brought it in to the dealer I bought it from on Thursday night. They pulled it apart and said basically every part of the primary drive is junk. Including the starter gear, drive sprockets, chain, clutch, all the bearings ...etc.. They told me they are waiting for Harley to call them back to see if they'll warranty it. WFT. They don't have the parts in stock, either. I have over 10,500 miles on the bike. Never got a straight answer on what the caused all the damage. I changed my primary fluid 5 times, so it certainly wasn't neglect. I'm know all the ground up metal ruined everthing, but I'm wondering if the sprocket wasn't hardened properly and that's why it broke.

Changed primary fluid 5 times in a year and 10,000 miles? Seems like 5x more than needed. Have you been in there doing other things?

I may have OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) issues. Out of my mind! Basically plain nuts. I got the bike new on 4/6/06. Kind of pathetic about maintenance. If I'm not riding I'm wrenching!!!!!! I guess that would be 5 times in less than five months. And no I haven't done anything else inside there.

Finally got the word today that they are going to warranty everything. Don't have to pay a penny. Every primary drive component, starter and the inner and outer primary covers are going to be replaced as they are all scored inside. Sweet!

I wonder(hope not) if this might be a manufacturing defect that may effect others, if the gear wasn't hardend properly.
