Default 16" Wild 1 Chubby Apes- Street Bob 2010 Cables

Hi guys,

can anyone tell me which cables I need to get to mount these on my 2010 Street Bob? I know that I have plenty of wiring (at least i think so), but I don't know which cables I should get. If you got any part numbers that would be fantastic! I'm guessing +6 over stock?
The bars are 37" wide 16" rise 10" center and 12.5" pullback.

Thanks!

I don't have any lengths or part numbers for you but in case you are wanting the HD cables you can get the exact same ones from Magnum Shielding but for cheaper.
http://www.magnumshielding.com/ You can search by your exact bike on there.

I would call Wild 1 Chubby and ask them for suggestions on cable length if no one here can help you. Or maybe even Hill Country Customs since they sell whole handlebar and cable kits specific to each bike.

Thanks man! I am watching HCC- their cables are $210, but I am pretty sure I can get black ones cheaper. The problem is the length and where :-)

Default were you able to get the answers to you questions?

Chi45cken,
I am currently in the same situation, I am ordering a set of 16" Wild1 Chubby's in Black and would like to know the cable lenghts. Any info you have from when you installed the bars on your SB would be helpful. Also, if you have any pics of the bars on the bike, post them, I would love to see what the end result looks like.

I bought 74" Clutch, 54" brake, and 39.5" throttle idle for my 16" Burly Narrows, this was the 6+" kit from HCC. Also have a NAMZ 8" handlebar wire extension. Dennis kirk or JP cycles have alot of options on lines. They have alot of black stock and Magnum black pearl lines also.

Your best bet would be to just call HCC. They will know exactly what cables you need. That is where I bought my 16" burly package from with all chrome controls and braided cables.

thanks! man your clutch cable looks a bit long no?

Btw- I went to pick up the bars and it turned out that they are for SPRINGER models and the guy said they wouldn't fit Bob. Sh*t there goes my great deal. Also- the Wild 1 Chubby apes feel and look fantastic- way better than I was expecting. Now I have to find a set that actually fits!

Alright guys so I bought a set of bars from a local indy guy this evening. Here's a pic of them:

As far as dimensions: I wanna say that they're 35-36 wide, 16 rise, 10-12 is the base. Not sure how much pullback.

Now for the cables.. I will be getting all +6 over stock. I figure there is only 2 inches difference between what I have now (check my sig pic) and the new bars (16"). They are a bit wider though.
Let's see... I looked at my stock brake line and it has a LOT of slack- I wonder if I can just use stock..... Wires- I read on here that there is PLENTY of wiring on the Bob already- we'll see I guess. Clutch looks like it needs to go for sure as well as idle/throttle. I will do more research on the forum to see what others used, but please feel free to chime in whenever with whatever:-) I will also attempt to do this ALL by myself... so I will heavily rely on you anyways :-)

I wonder how many girls have done it... Anyways- do I have to have the bike lifted? I don't have a jack or anything..

What kind of bars are those? Do they have double holes at the bottom for the wires to come out? Just wondering cause they look an awful lot like my bars and I don't know what brand they are since I bought them off a forum member. I think mine are Buffalo bars from pictures I found on the net.

Shoot- I am actually not sure, but they have a one big hole on the bottom not 2 smaller ones. I like them a lot though! The only thing now is to get the cables and the whole process of installing those suckers. How long did it take you to put yours on? Any suggestions as to where I can find some good step-by-step howto?
