Default Weird thing happened while riding today v. shifting problem?

About 5-10 mins into my ride today, I go to down shift coming up to a light and when trying to get back down to first, it goes to neutral and it would just grind everytime I tried to downshift again like the clutch wasn't engaging but I'm not sure that's what it was.
I could shift back up then it finally went down to first. It sure as hell was unnerving to say the least. Anyone have any ideas? It was hot as **** out but besides that nothing was different from any other time I ride.

Was the bike completely stopped when you were finally able to downshift? It just reminds me of the old cars w/o synchro 1st gear. Not sure about the solution though. Just thought I may be able to help get you on the right track.

Nope, I was still moving. I rode around for another 2 hours probably and it never happened again. I kinda felt like the shifts were sometimes more clunky than usual but that could have totally been my imagination.

Just curious, what kind of fluids are in your primary and tranny? Has it happened again?

Weird. I just couldn't imagine why it would go back to normal if the clutch needed adjusting. I'll give it a try. Thanks.

What oils are you using in what reservoirs, brand and viscosity?

How about the levels of those oils?

What about the mileage on those last oils?

Remember, harsh weather, short duration trips, dusty conditions, etc. really conspire to decrease the intervals between oil changes.

Do you or have you ever used the Syn3 oil?

...just guessing here...
