I bought a Harley take off headlight at a swapmeet. I think its off of a Heritage/Fatboy/??. The wiring plugged right in. I went to menards and got an eye bolt to use as a mount.
The hardest part was getting the wiring back in the neck and getting the rubber grommet back in after getting it all connected.

Mine is nothing more than a Drag Specialties 7” housing. I had to modify the mount that came with it to raise the light assembly up and closer to the bars for the look I wanted. Wiring is pretty straight forward, then pick out your favorite headlight lens and your good to go

You guys realise the OP is 9 years old?
But I guess reviving it is helping someone.
I went with a 7" on my softail, a Drag Specialties bucket.
The bike vibrates so much it tore the mounting ears from the back of the bucket.

Well, I assumed it was due to the 7" Truck light. I turned it in under warranty, it was a year old but had only seen 500 miles of riding.
I put a stock 51/2" back on.

Seems like lots of the Amazon/Ebay 7" headlights have complaints about brackets cracking or falling off. Anyone have any suggestions as to a good one to go with? The last thing I want is to have the whole thing fall off on the road somewhere. I wonder if it has something to do with the Dyna engine mounting system...
