Battery
Got on the scoot yesterday and it would not turn over...battery was dead. Put the battery on my tester/charger it was reading 12.2 V so I charged it at 2.5 for 3 to 4 hours until the charger said the battery was full...Volts read at 12.7..popped it in and the scoot fired up..my question..it's the orginial factory battery and the bike is a 2007....is it time for a new one or should I nurse this one along. I would hate to get stranded but I also hate to spend $ if not necessary.

Put the charger back on it and charge it 24 hours. You have not given it a fair chance. To really know what you got after charging pull it and have AutoZone put a free load test for the correct amp load test and that will show you what the reserve amps the battery has. I would bet after a good slow charge it is still in good shape. Also pulling it out will let you re-tighten the connections. You can also after doing this in a few day put your meter back on it and watch the voltage. While cranking should not drop below 10.5v. If after a long slow charge and it fails load test I would replace it. This is how I check mine a few months ago when my wire got loose and cranking was slow at first till engine fire was helping. Its 3 1/2 years old (Harley battery) After a good charge it was fine.
after setting 2 hrs
12.6 100% charged
12.1 75%
11.9 50%
11.8 25%

put your voltmeter on the battery while the bike is running. take it up to about 2500RPM and see what voltage you are getting...if its not somewhere are around 14.5v your battery is not your issue.

Get A battery tender and keep it on the tender when not being rode it helps the batteries last longer

I have an 07 Bob and my bike did the same thing before the battery went dead. I did the same thing you did.....charged it back up and it started a couple of times and then...dead again. Ended up getting another battery.
