Default o6 on Dyna with late Softail rear Wheel possible?

Someone must have done this. A search didn't show anything though.

I believe that the late softail rear wheel is 6.25 x 17 so leaving horns and fender aside what is needed to centre that wheel and clear the belt?

Thanks

I take it you laced a 5.5" or 6" rim to your original hub? Is it then a case of spacing the rear pulley?

This is my other option.

What size tire are you trying to run. I have an 18 x 5.5 laced to my stock hub and am running a 180 tire. No extra spacers needed.

Mine is a complete new 80 spoke DNA brand wheel. 18x5.5.

i seem to remember the maximum size rim width was 6" - i opted for a 18x5.75 laced to my original hubs and fitted with a 200/55/18. It needed minimal shimming to fit - the work was done in a firm in Gloucester (not far from you) and the wheels where done by a firm in Chepstow. They powder coated the hubs and rims and fitted polished stainless spokes. If you want more details or contact info drop me a line

Thanks all for your replies.

I wanted to fit a 200mm wide tyre.

Looks like the way to go is a wider rim on the existing hub. The softail wheel is a bit wider bearing to bearing.

Markeejay - that's the look I'm after. That seat looks the part. The fender looks good but I'd have to go for a fixed type with some kind of rack for the tent etc.

I put an 08 Fat Boy on my 07 Bob. Check in my album. I'm not home now. I will post more if you have ????s.

Got home so I added some pics. Work on bike is still being done. Maybe painted soon.
Struts were widened to fit the wider RK fender. Some trimming was done to the caliper. Custom spacers made. Dyna pulley is used on Fat Boy wheel. Belt now rides on the outer edge of tranny pulley.
