Default lowering 2011 Fatbob

hey, I am a 5' 5 lady, I fell in love with the 2011 fatbob while bike shopping earlier this year, however in the show room I expressed my concern with the seemingly high seat position and was going to go with the street bob instead. I was basically patted on the head and pushed through the sale.. I do love this bike but I have discovered now that I have it, it is not only me that has difficulties moving it around, the heavy feel of the front end along with the taller reach has caused some serious issues I get stuck when having to use leg power to get it moved around, I have many "motor cycle enthusiast" friends and family members and they teased me at first until i started making them push it around.. and wow.. they all agree.. here is the problem the Harley dealer is telling me that I cant use a lowering kit on it without causing problems. I am also being told that to change out the shocks will only give me max 1" my husband is 5'9 and around 160, he has scraped the pipes on corners already with its show room suspension... can I effectively put a lowering kit into this bike.. if so what are my expected negative side effects.. "realistically" not dealer crap answers..

You can lower the bike. I have 11" Progressive 412's on my street bob and lowered the front 1" with Progressive drop in springs. But you can also get a lower seat height by going with a different seat. Some seats can lower you as much as 2" compared to stock. The only drawback that I've found with my lowered bike is the suspension is stiffer, but I'm used to it. I don't really drag my pipes but they dodn't hang down to far either.

Is using the blocks any better vs. using lowering shocks? I need to get black shocks regardless but wondering if I can get maybe more drop and still keep a decent amount of suspension too?

Those lowering, did alot of you leave the front or drop that as well? I want to do this to my fxdwg but would like to leave the front alone but then my rake angle will change and will handling suck?

Loner...I would suggest a different seat for you. Maybe even a custom one. The stock seat position is high compared to some others and also it's very wide when you have your feet on the ground. It rubs on the back of your thighs which prevents you from getting your feet down easily. I love the look and riding position of my Lepera Silhouette. It's not the cushiest of seats but way narrower and lower than stock and the look is sleek. See if your dealer will let you put a few seats on your bike, maybe test ride a couple just for reference.

As for the heavy front end feel you are experiencing, I think it is due in part to the wider front tire on the Fat Bobs. Not sure of any type of fix for that portion of your struggle.

all your bikes look good. I picked up a set from http://harleyloweringkits.com/ and will be putting them on my fat bob tonight. After seeing these pics I might just cut out of work early to do it!!!

This was a inexpensive solution to dropping the bike. I did not notice any handling difference and now have ridden over 3k miles with them on and love the stance the bike has now.
