Here are some pics of my son's Sporty with the black cylinders and silver heads. I know, it's not a Dyna, but it shows the contrast pretty good. I actually like this set up:

One knowledgeable soul told me right off he didn't believe it was a stock 883.

Although you could leave the bare aluminum unfinished, the stock silver motors are powdercoated ... if you wanted to leave the raw finish look, you might consider having them powdercoated with a clear coat just so they don't deteriorate ... preserve them from getting corroded, etc from exposure to weather ....

Got a buddy that has an '08 FXD that I have been trying to talk into doing black jugs on the silver motor. I like that look.

I bought a 103" kit off a forum member here and sent the jugs to Joe the Powder Pro and had them powdercoated black. One of those subtle mods that most people won't notice.
