10,000 miles Exhaust+aircleaner... no tuner Update
#23
I've posted this a few times...Since 2007 the new Delphi EFI is supposed to be able to handle stage-1 hardware without adjustment. You still only get the stock tune, which is fairly lean but it will do no more harm than a stock bike would suffer.
People still advocate the need for extra fuelling for these newer bikes for a few reasons: Because the bike will have the stock lean tune and you are leaving power on the bench for all the money spent on the stage-1 hardware. Because they are experienced with pre-2007 bikes and don't know any better. Because its a dealer and he can make some money from selling you more stuff. Because YMMV.

It is true that using the O2 sensors the ECM will maintain the tune in the closed loop areas, but the open loop areas will be a bit out of wack. Besides, these bikes are tuned for emissions control not performance so maintaining this tune may not be what everyone wants. Fine for some, not fine for others.

Just so I"m clear on this,WOT means what?80% throttle, hard acceration,I will occassionly open my bike up and stay around 100MPH just to have that feeling but won't be there for long,so I"m assuming that would be WOT,but normal riding, highway speeds, this is closed loop, right?
