First mods to `11 FXDC
I have finally got my ducks in a row now for pipes and AC for my FXDC, with 650 miles. After reading many threads about this subject, and hopefully learning a little along the way, I've decided on VH Big Radius 2-2, an SE Stage I AC that fits with my existing cover, and leaning (no pun intended) towards the Xied over the Stage I download.
My goal, at least at the moment is not gobs more HP/TQ, in the future absolutely, but for now a modest increase is fine. The sound/look is my priority now. I like the deeper exhaust note over just being loud... Other than Youtube, I have not heard a lot of bikes this spring, as Ohio apparently has a monsoon season now. Is there a certain baffle for these pipes that provide a deeper rumble?
Just wondering what others have done or are planning to do as first significant upgrades to a brand new Dyna, and any thoughts on the upgrades I'm considering.
Thanks all.
David

The Stage 1 mod is definitely a high-priority upgrade. The engine wants to breath, and it runs too hot in the stock configuration. You should see approximately a 10% increase in performance.
I got the download with my SE A/C and SE slip-ons, and it works great --noticeable increase in power, throttle response, and cooler running engine. However, I've read enough posts in this forum to lead me to believe that the download might not work as well with non-Harley components. I think re-mapping (somehow, and there are many options) is required with the better flowing A/C and pipes.
Other high-priority upgrades? Safety and comfort, such as making the brake lights into running lights, getting a more comfortable seat, etc.
Enjoy!

I don't think the Xied is a replacement for a stage one download or tuner.
My advice to you is don't buy your mods based on what you see here or what you hear on Youtube. Get out and ride after the rainy season and look and listen to live bikes.

Over due thanks for the responses, my internet has been going on and off with the storms here for the past few days.
In between internet outages I ordered my V&H Big Radius Saturday on Amazon, vendor is Eastern Performance Accessories Inc, and they actually shipped them today!

Anyone considering the BR's 2into2, mine were $589, free shipping, and no sales tax for Ohioans on Amazon (of course I'll pay that at the end of the yr
) PN 26013, believe those fit 06 and up Dyna's. They are 699.99 on V&H website.
Have the SE Stage 1 AC in my possession already, and will go with the download too, when dealer can fit me in. Forward controls are next! Shoots my MC budget all to hell, but ups the smile content of my scoot by 1000%, and it was pretty high already...
Thanks again,
David
