I've got a Fox Creek leather jacket (Vented Racing Jacket) with shoulder, elbow and back armor. The jacket is very comfortable even with all the armor, and I very rarely go riding without it.

FIELDSHEER > perforated mesh - removable liner - armored = decent in summer, still will sweat a bit when stopped. Best of 3 jackets for summer riding.

DIANESE > perforated leather - removable liner - very well armored = will sweat in summer.

HD FXRG > leather - removable liner - soft armor = will really sweat when warm if not moving.

It all depends... Sometimes I do, and sometimes I don't.

I wear mine as much as I possibly can....Up to 90 degrees if I can keep moving most of the time. I like the no collar look, the armor, the venting, and the reflective skulls. I also own the matching vest for extreme heat conditions, to get reflective material on me at night.

That is a little steep of AS gear, especially used stuff. I've seen their textile gear sell for ~$120 (jacket or pants) on clearance. In comparison, for $500, you can get a new Olympia one piece suit made of Dupont Cordura with breathable waterproofing or a lot of other higher end gear options.
