Default V&H Side Shots?

My Street Bob is going in for it's first service in a week or 2. I'm considering having the shop install a Screaming Eagle tuner and a set of V&H Side Shots. I plan to keep my mid controls.

My concern is that in all of the pictures I've seen, it looks as if the Side Shot covers the dipstick for the oil. I can't imagine that V&H would design it like that, but I'd like someone who has them to calm my fears.

They look like they'd clear the passenger footpegs nicely.

I had V&H side shots on my '03 FXDX. Didn't block the engine oil dipstick too much. The transmission dipstick is another matter, though. I had SE pipes prior to the V&H pipes. The SE pipes didn't block anything. I have to admit, though, that I would definitely put up with the added inconvenience of the V&H pipes. Much better looking and sounding than the SE pipes.

I've got em and have no problems. (see attached pic) I love these pipes by the way. I think you will be quite happy with them.

I would put the pipes on yourself. Certainly less expensive that way. The tuner I don't know, but the pipes are a piece of cake. Just saying to save a few bucks. The dealer will charge probably 2 hours labor for that, you can do it yourself in that time. Just my 2 cents

I have them too. No problems check out pictures in my profile album. Do them yourself and get a powercomander instead. Much better.

If I could do it over again I would get a two into one pipe, side-shots are pretty cool and will for sure open your bike up a bit, but overall they are not a performance pipe, they are loud and I guess this is why they still sell lots, I do love mine but if your coming at it from a performance angle then there are better pipes out there, me I don't have to many points left on my lic so I cant really be racing all the time anyway,

You will like them, everything is still accessible. With the stock baffles I found them to be a bit "tinny" sounding and very loud so I installed BCT QQ baffles which are great ... loud when you twist the throttle but decent for cruising.

Thanks for all the replies. Looks like I was worried about nothing. It just occured to me that if I go with a tuner and pipes that I may as well put on a new breather....

The cost of ownership is going to be as much as the bike! LOL
