Default Ape Hangers Cost

A buddy of mine gave me a pair of 16" apes (black) for my 2011 Wide Glide. He hates them and gave them to me free. Was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what it would cost to have Harley install them? I would have them do the internal wires and braided black cables.

Thanks for the help.

The dealer wants about $1100 to change my 09 RK to apes. I already changed the bars to the Heritage style. That was cheap because it didn't require changing any cables, wires or brake lines. Unfortunately the next step does.

Since you have the bars, figure a dealer will charge around a thousand bucks to install them, maybe a bit more. Most dealers get a tad pissy when you bring them used stuff to install. An Indy will do the exact same job for 600-800 dollars.

do it yourself. saves a boat load of money and you get the satisfaction. May take you longer than the stealer or an indy, but it's a learning process. And nothing tastes better than a victory sip! (there could be lots of victory sips if you never done this before)

Its not a hard job, just time consuming... Even for a dealer or an indy u still have allot of the cost going to labor... If u even have basic skills u should be able to do it urself...

If I were to do it myself what is the other stuff I need to buy. Guess its worth a shot if it saves me a good amount of money. I just didnt know if I had to like weld anything together or fuse together wires because I dont know how to that.

I'm dumbfounded in the fact that anyone would spend $1000 to have someone install a set of handlebars. Why not find a local guy who would be happy to do it out of his garage for you and be glad to do it for you at 1/3 of the price? Support your local garage rat.
