Batwing on the FLD?

My quick measurements also showed FL Softail dimensions for windshield/lightbar/front fender etc. Nothing close to Roadking/Electra-Glide at all................

My earlier reference to the batwing was referring to the Memphis Shades Batwing. There is no difference between the Road King or Softail fairings except for the mounting brackets.

i dont like the FLD, 'cause it wasnt a 2010 model. grrrrr
seriously though, it does look good, but i do prefer the shield over the batwing for looks.
gonna have to pull my finger out and get busy with the old FL rear fender i bought months ago so i can keep up with the 2012 dyna bagger crowd

The trouble with HD batwings is the fact that they are tilted forward when compared to the Shovelhead batwing to allow for the sound system and the speakers. Maybe I've been a Shovelhead rider for too long, but this looks funny to me. A batwing on a Dyna already looks odd and the forward tilt makes it look worse. With the forward tilt a lot more air comes up from under the fairing and in your face. All the aftermarket wings that I've checked out are patterned from the HD one except the Memphis Shades is not a true copy. I haven't ridden behind a Memphis one either. First 2 pics are with Shovel batwing.

Seriously, I'd definitely add this batwing on the FLD for long trips especially in the spring going to Laughlin when it's bug-hell...that is, as long as it was integrated into the quick-release system.
