Bikes an 06 street bob, I want to mount a factory tach on the bar clamp like an fxdx!!!!!! Anyone do this? I dont want a aftermarket guage, i want it to look factory.....

I think im on too somthing, use the speedo mount off a 06 and newer super glide, and get an OEM tach and im in business.... I dig the way the speedo looks on a super glide with tall risers and the 1/4 fairing....

 

Gotta ask, and maybe you've been through this before, but your St. Bob looks a lot like a Fat Bob. What are all your mods?

And how did you get the tach to work? I remember reading somewhere that St. Bobs were not set up to receive tachs.

 

sorry to hijack the thread but what is the part# of that mini tach bracket i have the same tach but no mount. its been sitting on my shelf with no way to mount it for a year and half. i have an 07 street bob

 

A local Harley dealer installed the tach because in 06 there were no tachs being sold for the Bobs. It took them 3weeks to install because Harley apparently didn't mockup the tach so nobody knew how to do it. The bike has had some engine work done, moded for a larger rear tire, different bars,dash,headlight,oil cooler, etc. I haven't been riding as much this year but still have a couple of mods to do yet.
LOL...I really don't think it looks like a fatty..
It never ceases to amaze me that guys with Superglides want the gauges off the handlebars and on the dash and the guys with dash gauges want them up on the bars...Guess that's why we all mod them to make them uniquely ours.
