Default Stock seat rip off frame paint ?

FXDWG 2010, last time I removed my seat (stock) I've found not a small scratch but hell a whole portion of the frame without paint anymore ...
stock passenger pillion did fairly the job on the rear fender too ... running throught the clear.

(pics are coming)

That's kinda normal for all motorcycles...you can use touch up paint to repaint the area...on the underside of the seat place thin foam weather striping to help it from marring the frame.

The paint under your seat is normal, the paint on the fender that should have been taken care of from the factory by a clear protection film be applied. Bad design by Harley if you ask me. I went to make local automotive window tint shop that also does the clear bras for rock chips on the front of cars and had them make me a custom clear cover for my rear fender. Works great when I ride solo I take off the pillion, and the clear bra has protected the fender while riding 2 up the clear is barley noticeable. Also the clear bra is not effected by the pass pillion so it always looks good. Best mod I have have had done yet.

It just sucks ... i mean that thing is new (still going to be new in my head in couple of years ...) but my others older bike never done that at least never that much. I know i can patch it up, i know it's hidden at least under the seat .... I couldnt take a picture of how bad the fender looks i've tried to polish it ... it make it less visible but still i was amazed on how deep in the paint the pillion pad went.

I hear ya its a pita, as far as the pass pillion goes fortunately I took care of the problem before it beat the hell out of my fender. You may have to use a rubbing compound and try and get out the scratches then find a solution so it does not happen again. Good Luck

They really should put some bumper pads there but they don't - I added some and it doesn't do that any more plus the seat doesn't move around as much.

I just apply electrical tape to the paint where the seat rests, so the tape takes the rubbing rather than the paint itself.

Same on my 07 S.B. And seat bumper kit for passenger pillion didn't keep fender from being scraped up either.
