Default Fat bob Help

Hey ya'll I need some advise. As I have gotten some help from some, I am more confused now than when I started. LOL. I am looking at a way to get just a little closer to the forward controls on my 08 Fat bob. I was going to buy the reduced reach conversion for controls but have been looking at other options. That is where I am confused. I have been told to look at the reduced reach seat, but don't want to loose comfort in seat. Another seat is the badlander, but haven't got an answer on how much difference it will actually make. Then the last thing was 11" shocks, but don't want to loose ride doing that. They all have a give and take, just don't know which will actually help me the most. Please give some advise.
Thanks

I would try the reduced reach seat first. I think Corbin makes one, as well as C&C (just beware there have been some quality issues with some C&C seats).

The 11" shocks will just lower the rear, so I'm not sure if that will make you closer to the controls.

I have no idea where the badlands will position you.

I say get the reduced reach seat.

Are you otherwise happy with the seating position and the relationship to the bars? If so changing the seat may not be the best choice - while it would move you forward it will move your whole body closer whereas the reduced reach control kit will only move your feet closer and leave the rest unchanged.

That is where I just want to do the best. I like the way the bars feel. I have no problem with those. I just have a short inseam. When I stand with the bike both feet are almost flat, not quite but close.

Has anyone had any experience with the Badlander seat? I have read that it lowers the rider but does it move them forward at all?

? What quality issues have you heard about C&C seats? In all my searching I've heard nothing but good things about them. And yea, a reduced reach seat def seems like the best way to go.

My CC Fastback never fit right and Chucks explanation was that all bikes are different......His fix was for me to wrap a piece of leather around the forward tap to keep the seat from moving around. Never was right from day one so I sold it and went back to Corbin. Was like night and day, I will never try to save a few bucks on a seat again.

11 inch shocks are not going to help you. You may still like the bar relationship with a reach seat. Most reach seats sit you lower as well as closer to the controls, and most give up some comfort. The easiest and least expensive thing to try is a reach seat.

The final solution for my short inseam/short arms was mid controls, HD 2 inch pull back risers, and a Mustang tripper solo seat. I tried a reach seat for awhile (Lepara Bare Bones), and although I could reach the ground and controls easier, and had a better seating position, it was uncomfortable on the rear end for more than an hour ride. I used an Air Hawk for extended trips. The Lepara Bare Bones reach seat quality was top notch as well as being stylish.

The mid controls were original on the bike, so I did not have to deal with the switch from forwards to mid.... which, if I recall correctly, is expensive because you need a different primary cover.... but I haven't been following the available alternatives for a year.

So try a reach seat, borrow one if you can. Maybe it would work for you.

I bought a reduced reach seat for my Ultra and it was still very comfortable. The reduced reach seats move you down and forward.
