I don't know that the oil reservoir in the shock will behave the same if it's inverted. There's a forum member that drops some knowledge on shocks once in awhile, I think his name is FastHarley or something like that. Might want to PM him as I think he knows the internals of these shocks very well.
Going to pick up some RK air shocks tomorrow, has anyone installed rear shock up side down? I like to have the air valves sitting on the bottom. I have done many cars and 4X4, no problem whatsoever. I have done a search on the web, most ppl said ok but some said no you shouldn't, I have no idea.
I'd say go for it... air does not react to gravity,,,
Well I will just install the shocks normally and air valves point downward, will see!
If you don't wan't the valves pointed down you CAN install them so the shock is right side up but with the valve pointing up (and to the rear) or just use the kit to link the two of them together, I had mine under the seat for a year or so but moved it here in the spring.
