From what I have learned is 96-03 are "go" Maybe a better question would have been, what frame differences are there in a 2006 that the 1996 may or may not have.I am changing the rear fender so mounting fitment will have to be made(different screw placement). Is the 06 wider or narrower etc. Oh yea thanks for the bump.

Go to any motorcycle seat company's web site (HD,Lepera,Corbin,Mustang) find a seat for 96 FXDWG and it will tell you years and model fitment.

Ok, bought the Corbin Hollywood leather solo seat for 06 glide. Will see if it fits(96WG), if it don't I'll start cutting, bending,re-padding ,glueing to see if I can get it to fit. Got it for 52$& change even comes with hardware and two keys I guess it locks to the bike?.I'll post pics in the leather forum if it turns out OK.

Street Glide and Wide Glide are two totally different bikes, one being a touring bike and the other being a Dyna. Not even close when it comes to seat fitment, the seat pan is completely different.

all seats 96-03 will fit your 96, i did try a 06 seat on my 2002, the problem i found was the mounting tab on the front of the seat don't line up, also the curvature of the seat is off leaving a gap between the frame and the seat base.

hope this helps

Thanks for the heads-up. If thats the only problem, I'll be happy.
