Default Iso-Grip Insall Help

So last night I went to install my iso-grips and the adjusters for the throttle and idle cables will not move. I was able to get the jam nuts loosened but not the adjusters. Although they don't look rusted, I'm assuming there's corrosion in there. And, there's really nothing to grab to keep the line from twisting when trying to loosen. I'd appreciate some tips to get them loosened?

Thanks,

Did you spray them with a good penetrating oil? If not, do that and let them sit overnight. Might help.

I was going to but I wanted some input before doing so. I wasn't sure if that would harm the cables somehow.

Another question: How do most loosen the adjusters? Is this something that should come loose using fingers? Reason I ask is the lines start twisting when loosening. I want to grab the sleeve behind with grips of some sort but affraid of crimping them.

Unless I'm totally misunderstanding your problem, you need 2 wrenches for each adjuster. One on the locknut, the other on the long hex part of the cable that the locknut runs up to.

I think we're talking the same thing. Problem is once what u call the lock nut is loosened, there is nothing to hold rigid when trying to loosen the longer adjusted nut. I guess my question is should the long one be finger adjustable. Goes back to my original dilema of it not moving. I'm going to hit it with WD40, was just curious if long sleeve should come off using fingers instead of wrench.

So the adjuster is frozen on the threads. WD or some penetrating oil should work to loosen that up. After it sits you should be able to loosen it up by hand. You don't want to put too much twisting force on the cable so just take it slow.
