With that attitude I can absolutely guarantee you will have hearing loss and far, far earlier than you can imagine.

Take it from an old guy whose ears ring constantly - the time to protect your hearing is yesterday. I won't comment on loud pipes - that's an individual choice (provided you stay within the law) but I will say you should start wearing ear plugs every time you ride. If the pipes don't get you the wind will.

Did you change your helmet to one that covers your ears?

do you have a temputure gun. i would say something has turned lose inside the exhaust and is blocking the path of your exhaust. a temp gun might help in finding the blockage.

Check your intake, is it running ruff at idle? Carb, check jet, Ride in the rain, paper filter Collapsed or maybe a neighbor shoved a potato in the pipe.

I would shine a flashlight up the pipes and try to see if anything is blocked in there, of course I think that would be extremely rare. Otherwise without necessarily going deaf, you may be becoming accustomed to that sound.

take it to a muffler shop or contact the oem(orginal equipment manifactor? ). you may not be alone on this issue. can you take the muffer/pipe apart?
