Looking great, Neil. Dunno if it's cause I usually see fishtails on FLs but it seems to make the bike look bigger.

All I can say at this point is..... THANKS! I was very much expecting to take some hits from you guys, but the responses have been very positive. It is of course pouring rain out so I can't even got out riding to hear how they sound, but I am hoping they sound decent.

That is my goal as well.

No, they are just straight 40 inch drags with a 36" extension on the bottom and a chopped piece up top. I was running torque cones but took them out when I added the fishtails. The extensions drastically changed the drag pipe sound, as well as quieted up the system overall. If I had to play "name that sound", the closest I could come would be to say it sounds more like an old Evo bagger than anything else. But without actually riding it, even thats guessing. The video helps, but cheap cameras only pick up a portion of the actual sound.

Come on rain...... GO! I wanna hear this thing on the hyway.

Man......... yeah.
After I installed the tail light, license plate and signals, I realized they cluttered up the back of the bike. I switched to blacked out lenses in the hopes of reducing their impact, but that didn't help much. I agree that the back fender would look clean and crisp without all the lights, but at this point theres just too many holes to start removing parts. If I get the gumption I may one day pull the fender, weld up the holes and try again. I have already purchased some small steam lined bullet rear signals, at least thats a start in the right direction.

I like fishtails. I think your bike is awesome. Love those rims too. Great job!

Always liked the look of fish tales, but didn't like the sound. Yours sounds better than any I've heard.

Check out the layback license plate holder from HDF member Hogrida - for about 25 bucks, and it lays right down on the fender. Curves match and all.

That, and a laydown light from Custom Dynamics... or even better, french the light in.

Love it. Do you think you were able to provide enough support for the long pipes? I remember you had a bit of an issue with that on your 2 into 1.

Thats a great idea, thanks. I will look into that.

And thanks again to all that replied. I just got back from a long put and I am thrilled as stink with the exhaust. I was shocked that these pipes made the bike louder AND changed the powerband. The sweet spot dropped by a few hundred rpm and theres a clear change at where the WOT power comes on. I was pretty suprised how a couple feet of pipe could make such a difference.

AFM, since you posted, I went down to the basement and added clamps, tieing the center of the system together for just the reason you said. I used heavy duty clamps and 3/8 rod on this one just to be safe. Not taking any chances this time. Thanks for the "gentle" reminder. Lol
