Thanks for your insight guys. I am guessing the original owner paid the MSRP of $16400 plus $2000 extras meaning he may have taken k a $10,000 Bath for 2600 miles traveled. I Wonder if the belt will be needing replacement not having been ridden. I'm currently riding an 07 Yamaha VS1300 with $3K worth of add ons and I would have to get $1000 for my bike to take that kind of bath. Unless I am way off base on the original cost. seems the Low Rider was at the upper range of the Dynas in price. Excuse my ignorance though.

They would probably offer me $3000 ACV and want $8000 cash. I would give them $5000 and my bike at most. They would pass....I keep riding Yamaha.. LOL..

But you guys made it real. I may throw my bike on Craigslist for $6000 and see if I get any bites then revisit Harley world. The last Harley I owned was an 87 FXRC I sold into the Harley bubble in the 90's and never looked back. Dealers were really taking advantage of the roaring 90's and the lack of enough bikes for a suddenly hungry market Seems things have gotten back to normal and I may be over valuing the used bikes.

Living in Harley Country I should be able to find a good used low mileage Dyna for around $9000. I have seen 09 Super Glides for $7500.

Thanks for your input. I really appreciate the advice. (although I don't as a rule buy extended Warranties on anything as they lock you into the dealer service) There are a lot of private HD mechanic shops here that are less costly and from what some owners I know say are very good. Are there common issues that would require the extended warranty on today's Harleys?
The only issue I had with the FXRC was electrical connectors coming lose and a little oil leak from the inner primary cover. Its is my understanding they halved the number connectors in the 90's and oil leaks are a thing of the past.

I only put about 4K a year on my bike any more. Mostly commuting. Not many rides to nowhere anymore since I moved from out west where every ride was long and the scenery and weather much much better.

Thanks...I have seen some really nice prices on Super Glides. I really like the Fat Bobs and Low riders. Love everything about the Fat Bobs except the straight bars though. I prefer the more buck horn style.

I would think you could find a better deal. Even though it is a very nice looking bike. I wouldn't deal with MBHD and give that idiot Phil Schoonover a dime, but thats just me. Good luck with your search, and keep us up to date.

Yeah Thanks. I used to feel that way about Las Vegas Harley in the 90's. People would wait 6 months for a bike they put a deposit on and when it finally came in the Dealer would throw thousands of $$ accessories on the bikes call the buyers and said "take it or leave it". Soured me on HD for years. I sold my FXRC for stupid money at that time and bought Metrics though today. Never paid much for them so the beating on resale was not as rough in real dollars.

I want to won a Harley before I check out. Now seems to be the best time to start the research and see whether it would be a good fit for my riding style and I think joining a community of like minded people would be nice. Its more about the social aspect than the bike sometimes. It is truly a religion..in a good way.LOL It's really a great community of people.

Look hard for a deal. I just bought a 2012 Super Glide for a little over 13 out the door. So some dealers are willing to deal.

The LR is priced too high as well as the tank was repainted, possible damage maybe. I paid $9700 for my 07 LR with 3600 on the clock. Had stage 1 with V&H Big Shots and FP as well as other accessories. Buy private and $ave....imo.

I say go for the Low Rider.....since they quit making them in 2009, they are getting harder to find and the price is going up!!!!
