Default Street Bob front wheel is 2.15" or 2.50" wide

Intrying to find the widest tire I can find to fit a 21 x 2.15, I came across a page that said the Bob's front wheel is 19 x 2.50 and not 19 x 2.15. Not in the service manual. So what's the actual width on a stock Bob?

I just went and verified it. On the rim there is a stamp. It says 19 x 250. there is not "dot" between the 2 and 5, but it couldnt be metric. 250 millimeters is equal to 9.84 inches. So it must be 19 x 2 1/2 right. I pulled a tape on it. The outer edges are 3 1/2 inches wide. The insides of the bead are 2 1/2 inches wide. If that helps any. the Tire is a 100/90 19.

Thanks for the verification. My bike is a few miles away in winter storage at a friends garage. The extra 2.50 inches of rim explains the slightly larger tire size. I like that wide front and don't want to lose it if I go up to a 21 inch front.

Check this page out. http://www.hdwheels.com/Product.htmThe size for the bob is wrong, but I emailed them to se if I could go 21 x 3 with a 120/70 21 metz. I will let you know the outcome of the email.

That company is the first place that I seriously started talking to about building a wheel. Their products look excellent. That is one of the sources that threw me off on the Bob wheel size. To tell you what they told me, they said that you can't go larger than a 2.15 on the front of a Bob when you go to 21 inch. They said it's because of the hub. I don't know as much as they do, but it seems wrong that a 2.5 is on the bike and they say only a 2.15 will fit. I really don't want a narrow 90/90 on the front of my Bob for plenty of reasons. Even a little extra width would make a world of difference in looks, comfort, and safety.
Let me know what they tell you, and make sure you inform them of the rim width. They were telling me I would have problems with my front fender if I didn't size the wheel right. I almost told them, "I'm talking about buying a $1,000 wheel and you think I can't remove or modify a damn fender?" If I can find a wider wheel to build than a 2.15 then I'm going to do it.

I just called hdwheels.com back and talked to some Indian guy. He said he could lace and hub to any rim. He said he didn't know why I was told a 2.15 was as wide as I could go. He said I could get a 21 x 3 or a 21 x 3.5

I'm going to measure this afternoon to make sure there are no odd clearance problems with a 3 inch wide rim

Lolife, I don't know what you mean. Feather?

I just talked to a different guy at ridewright and he said they can't even make a 21x2.15 for an 06 Bob. Apparently everybody at these wheel building places knows something different or nobody knows anything. Does anybody here know anything?

Lolife, let me know what your talking about and I'll get back to you. Thanks.
