Default FatBob tank on a Wide Glide?

Hi, anyone know if you can put a FXDF gas tank on a WideGlide? Specifically the later models 2011-12 and so on. Is it a plug and play type mod or is it something you would pay someone to do for you? If so, can one then use the upgraded HD speedo/tach for the FXDF on the Wide Glide?

Thanks for your input!

The tanks are different (FXDF is larger) but they will interchange.

Dont necessarily want to change the tanks but I like the larger speedo/tach and start switch of the fatbob. To me it just looks better than the smaller wide glide version. I am assuming it would be easier to just change the tank then try to mod the wide glide tank to fit the fxdf guage and start switch?

I would look into modding the dash and not getting involved with changing the tank. It can be very costly for the small changes you are wanting to do.

I believe starting in 2010 that the mileage of the bike is stored in the ECM so an upgraded tach/speedo combo would work great.

I've just got the parts together to do a 2007 FXD and relocate the speedo in the dash. I have been gathering used parts for months, and am already into the conversion for 600 bucks. (tank, console, gauges, handlebars)

Its a disease, I don't want to know what it cost me to convert to a FB front end along with the wheels and tires.

If I had a WG I would go with that new digital speedo/tach cobo they have, it looks pretty nice and would look even better with a chrome WG dash.

Hey, Thanks for all the helpful comments. Don't know why I thought I would have to replace the whole tank to mod the dash. Just assumed.

Thanks again!
