2003 or 2013 DWG Advice needed.
I want to buy a DWG. I have located a low mileage 2003 anniversary model and have the option of buying a new one. What would you do and why. Don't talk about economics as I want to keep the money issue seperate. I can afford the new one.
I am 58 years old and will use it for short rides of less than 200 miles. Is there any advantage to one vs the other. I am aware of the 88 engine vs the 103 and 5 speeds vs 6.
So, if money was not an issue but you wanted a good reliable bike that is a pleasure to drive on short to medium rides, which would you buy?

I did a test ride on an early Dyna and it seemed like the battery really stuck out from under the seat (hit you in the thigh at stops), and the air cleaner hit my shin. Not sure about the 2003, but the 2012 Wide Glide is much more comfortable. Test ride both, if you can. Which one do you want to get stuck in traffic with?
I like the old style Wide Glides, but new, under warranty, 6-speed, 103 and EFI are a big plus. Good luck.

Ok, lets throw a little economics into the mix. The 2003 anniversary edition with 8000 miles will cost about $9,000. the 2013 will run about $16,000 MSRP with Security system. Then I gotta put on a Stage 1 for about $1,000. So, $9,000 vs $17,000. Does that make anyone change their mind one way or the other.
