RE: Tank Lift before & after
I couple of things for you Low Riders thinking of a tank lift...
Let me start off by telling you the lift bracket itself it top quality...
The 2" lift does create two problems.. When turning to the right it hits the bolt that retains the brake line. Second iswhen turning to the left it hits the tank.
If I shorten the stopper so the fork bolts don't hit the tank, then I won't be able to lock my forks[]
The bolt that shipped with the lift kit was about a quarter of an inch too long so I switched it with the one securing the rear of the tank. This makes the tank lift in the front have matching bolts and nuts. Notice the in the first pic the nuts are long and capped on the end. I'm going to run to the local hardware store to try to find the same size bolt and a closed cap nut like the OEM version. I'm afraid that the extra lenght of the bolt will cause the threads to cut into the seat.
I'm most concerned about the triple tree bolt hitting the tank on the left but I want to still be able to lock the forks.

RE: Tank Lift before & after
gamma 742 thanks for the complimentfor the qualityof my mount. if you want, i can send you a shorter bolt if you would like, just P.M. me. if your scared of the trees hitting the tank or being close to the tank. then you might want to buy a triple tree adjustable stop from the dealer for $9.95.its easy to install to, itsso your front end does'nt rotate as far side to side.
