Default Broken torx while removing brake pedal

I should say trying to remove brake pedal..

That sucker is tight. Luckily the head of the fastener didn't strip, but the shaft on the torx socket adapter snapped. The broken piece flew out and whacked the crap out of my knuckle.

Am I doing something wrong?
Is it a left handed thread by any chance?

Will WD40 work or should I apply some heat?

Any tips are appreciated. I'm not going to screw with it until I have a good process.

Thanks,

Try WD-40 or PB blaster.
As far at the Torx itself goes this is going to sound crazy but it works really well. Get your self a tub of valve grinding compound. and dip the tip of the torx bit into the compound then use it. It will take the fear of stripping it way. (works well with allan head bolts as well. Once you try it you will always have a tub of it in your tool box.

Don't use tamper-proof torx bits, and try a manual impact hammer driver to break it loose if you can get to it with one.

Use PB Blaster, Free-All, or liquid wrench. WD-40 isn't great for breaking bolts loose.

Heat the bolt up with a soldering iron to loosen the loctite.

agreed WD is not a penetration oil so it will not get in there. you need to break the loc tie loose so just hit it with some PB or liquid wrench as stated, also be sure you have a solid clean fit in the tq bolt and use constant pressure... on those i like to stick a punch in the middle of the torx bolt and smack it with a hammer. i was told years ago by an old wrench that this will help break the loc tite loose... is this true? who knows... but I do it. hahaha i know on some torx sockets they do not always fit all the way in due tot he clevis so you can also shave down the socket so that it gets all the way seated into the bolt. i would avoid heat unless you have no other options as that will mess up the stock powder work. let me know if i can help

When it comes to torx or allen heads, I only trust Snap-on.

If you use PB Blaster or WD40 (better lube than penetrate) its best to let it sit overnight. Kroil oil is another good one. Did your torx have Taiwan or China stamped on it? If you don't have a manual impact driver try smacking the torx bit with a hammer a few times before trying to loosen it.

Best thing I found to loosen loctite was heat, good idea on the soldering iron.

Try tightening and loosening in a back and forth method too.
