Default Fork blackout options?

I'm looking for options to black out my forks. I don't really want to pay the $400 or so that HD wants for their fork sliders. Anyone done anything different thats cheaper?

We can do it WAY cheaper than that! we offer a st bob fork package for $150 for the sliders and trees, (+15 if you have the intragrated risers) this we do the stem cap and dust caps free of charge. I can also tear down and rebuild your fork lowers with fresh seals, fluids, and crush washers for an additonal charge to make thing easier on our customers. If you have any questions at all please let me know!!

Powder coat, see Joe at Powder Pros- a sponsor here. Sand and paint yourself, some guys in here have had satisfactory results. Others in here have used PlastiDip, lots of threads on that in here.

Joe also made a post that was something like "epoxy paint lowers" or something of that nature that holds up better than plasti dip and looks really good. Do a search for what I put in quotes and you should come up with one posted by JRK5892. He explains it very well and has a few pics of some finished ones on there too.

I might look into that, however I'm mechanically retarded and not sure if I'd feel comfortable dismantling my forks. Seems like a great option for less than half the price. I'm not 100% but I might wait until winter to get all my stuff done being that I just got the bike not that long ago and I can't get off the bike for more than an hour or two

i am playing with the epoxy paint that was posted on here.
So far I am impressed. The only thing I don't like is it is gloss.
I prefer matte or semi gloss

I'm happy with my $5 Plasti Dip but will eventually do the coating.
