Default Removing chrome battery housing?

Hi,
I bought a battery tender jr. for my 03 FXDLand I am trying to remove the chrome housing that goes around the battery. I do not see how the housing comes off so I can get to the battery terminals. I can see the positive terminal when I take the seat off, but not the negative. Can I use the negative that goes to the frame for the battery tender, because I can see that part? But even if I can, I want to learn how to remove this battery just incase I need to replace it in the future. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Jason

Yep. You can use the terminal that goes to the frame for the negative side. With regard to removing the battery box, there should be two bolts on the left side of the box, one vertical and one horizontal that need to be removed - then you can take out the battery.

Look under the battery box and you will see two bolt heads. The one horizontal holds the battery tight to the frameamd the vertical bolt lets the box down or picks it up. The bolt heads are 1/2". Hope this helps.

My 06 fxdbi has a single 'screw' under the battery box. Remove it and the whole cover will tilt out, exposing both the negative and positive terminals. I don't know if it's even remotely similar to yours, but thought I'd chime in...
