Default Nacelle for Dyna

Anyone know of where to find a nacelle for the 2006 - 2010 Dyna's without changing the complete front end?

In my world a nacelle is what covers aircraft engines. So what exactly are you asking about? A fairing? Please dumb it down a bit for me.

Talking about the headlamp nacelle. It typically covers the trees and houses the headlamp.

I'm sure someone will jump in to say I am wrong, but there doesn't seem to be a bolt on nacelle for a Superglide, Street Bob, etc. A few things are considered including the tubes are 49mm, the width of the trees, location of the headlight. A Switchback has a nacelle, but the front end is a different design than the above mentioned bikes. I have considered attempting to build one, but if you use tin, you would have a lot of cutting and welding, then chroming, if that's the route you want to go. I have thought about grabbing one from a swap meet and attempt to modify it. I have looked at a few, but can't recall if they were aluminum or pot metal. If it is pot metal, I wouldn't even venture, but if it's aluminum and you can weld aluminum, you could polish it to a high gloss and it would look great. I'd be interested in other options or ideas if anyone has any.

I have been looking for years for any tins or slider covers for 49mm front ends, haven't found anything yet. Most guys that really want tins go with an FL Softail front end. My father went with the 1960-84 FLH front end using modern forks. A little grinding on the lower trees was needed but it has worked perfect for 2 years. Here is a picture during the build of his 2005 Superglide.

I agree. There seems to be a limited if any supply for the newer Dyna's. I did a little research and did find that Harley used to sell one for the older smaller dyna front ends. Not sure if it was due to lack of sales but they discounted the part. I'm sure a guy with metal/welding skills could build one. I've been trying to figure out if its a better idea to modify my current dyna superglide custom into a switchback or trade it in. I'd need the complete front end off the switchback as well as a new wheel. I don't think the 19 inch stock fxdc wheel is a direct swap.

Speak to Gary at oldinc.com. They make a composite nacelle ( amoungst other things) and could probably work with you to make a custom size one. They'll do thier fenders in any size you ask for, so the nacelle might be possible as well.
