Default Pipes and Primary scrape pics

my 07 stbob is some 10 weeks old and goes in for it's 8000k (5000mle) service on Tuesday, but at the rate I'm grinding it away I might need to trade it on a new one......LOL
I live in near some great riding country, mountain ranges and lots of both highway and twisty riding....
Obviously I've got to stiffen the back up a bit as I'm around the 6'1" 240pound mark and love to ride hard in hills and bends but have scraped the lower pipea few times, the guard rail for the transmission and now the primary case.
I'm thinking of putting on a set of progressives as everyone here seems more than happy with them but I don't think I'll be going any lower.... I'm also thinking of having one of those 'tru tracks'? fitted to stop the sideways movement I get at the moment.....
I'll probably be up for new tyres in about 1-1.5k as well but at least they're worn all the way to the edges, nothing worse than changing a tyre that's got all that rubber still on the outsides..lol.......

Do you have your shocks adjusted for maximum preload?

If you do replace your shock - let us know what you get and how they do.

I'm 212 and ride hard. Just got a new Bob and know I'm at least 240 with leathers, boots, helmet and all the goin's-ons i take with me.

The guy that had the bike before me had ridden it so hard it became a salvage bike... And mine!
Looks to be all left hand turns.

Put a set of 2" - 4" over tubes on the front end. That's da ol' fart way we used to get a little clearance on HDs.

Heya Jehu, I'm not set for maximum at the moment but I'll be having it set again on Tuesday at it's service. Not too sure how soon I'll be changing the shocks, but when I do I'll be sure to post....

Rude... looks like you picked up a nice ride...funny how some people like left hand turns others right.... I seem to feel my right side peg hit real early, and yet the left seems like it hits much later... anyone else feel like that?????

thanks poco, I'll keep that in mind......

It has to do with the (2006) Street Bob's Lean Angle:
31° left
30.5° right

There are options available:[/b]
My (1998) FXDS has a lean angle of:
33.5 right
34.5 left

The Sportster (1997):
36 right
40 left

And just for fun I looked up the FLH models (2005):
31 left
30 right

I was very suprised to find out the Street Bob has a similar lean angle as the touring bikes. I love the web.

and I'd hate to be behind you when you burp out all that primary fluid. Looks like it'll be soon... I'd suggest stiffer shocks in the rear and longer tubes up front. You need at least another inch of clearance.
