V&H and Fuel Pak on Fat Bob.
Hi Guys,
well lets start with,,..im from india...recently got delivery of my HD Fat Bob.
Now im looking at getting the Heavy Breather Kit installed. as well V&H Shortshorts. with the Fuel Pak.
Ive already got the V&H and the fuel pak.
The area where i need help is. Do i need to get the Ecu calibrated from the HD dealership once I install the Heavy Breather or not, since im gonna use the fuelpak.?
I spoke to one of the sales guy at the dealership and he said that i have to get it calibrated even if im goin to use the fuelpak with the V&H.
Advice and help needed guys.

Do yourself a favour and ditch the fuel pak. I had one. Total garbage. All they can do is add or subtract fuel, kinda like changing jets in a carb.
When my bike was still a 96 I was pretty much on a first name basis with tech support at v&h because of the brutal decel pop or running so rich raw fuel comes out the exhaust. Then the part throttle surging and then in the mid rpm range the bike just flat spots,no pull, then kinda turns on again. They are garbage.
Best mpg I ever got was 36mpg all highway. And when I went 106 my piston crowns had 1/16" carbon build up on them, with 12000 miles total on the engine.
I took it off and threw it in the garbage because no was would I give that junk to someone knowing how horrible it is.
I was daily getting new values to try out, make the adjustments, ride for the evening and email v&h again because something else was going on. I stripped 2 screws taking my seat on and off.
I got a pcv on my built 106 and now get 50mpg highway. With 107hp/115tq. And I inspected my piston crowns at plug change this spring and there is barely a hint of carbon inside.
Never ever will I recommend those things. Total junk.
But they make a helluva set of pipes.

All you need is the FuelPak.
I have been running the FuelPak with V&H Twin Slash Slip ons, Arlen Ness Big Sucker kit and HD SE 255 cams. I have not had any issues. NO back firing and NO popping!
I can keep up to a 103 with a SE Cert with no issue side by side.
My ECM has not been updated to Harley's stage 1 map, nor does it need to be.
There are a lot of fuel tuners out there. The FuelPak is one of the better ones. Are there better tuners out there? Yes, there is. One day you may want to upgrade, but the FuelPak is a good starting place.
