These newer modules just plug in to stock wiring and supply dual voltages to single filament bulbs - lower for running lights and higher levels for brake lights.

Do you have a picture of just the module and the wires that come with it?

I installed a custom fender and eliminated my tail light. I installed a biketronics BT-300 tailbones module. Turn signal lights/bulbs are stock. I have tail, stop and turn function. Works perfect. Are you sure your tail/stop light worked before you began your mod? It could just be a grounding issue.

If it is a 2007 bob like mine or older, it only has 2 wires to the bulb, but i upgradet my rear end to a 2012 including the wireing. Now it has 3 wires.. The extra wire is for the run/brake function

Its a 2007. I'm heading to the garage today to start ripping into it. Hopefully I'll square everything off.. I'll plug up the old harness and see if I'm getting power to the all the components to eliminate the possibility of something wrong prior to the *** end. I'm hoping its something stupid and will be a quick fix.

Interested as to what you find out. I just did a '12 to '13 fender swap on my FXDB, new harness and all... I have running/turn but no brake lights and no one can seem to figure out why.

Subscribed.

No brake lights?? I'd start with the wire that runs from both hand lever and brake pedal switches to the tail light since everything else seems to work.

Don't know if this is the same with bikes, but the ECM in my 07 Jeep is smart. It monitors certain circuits for faults. And will not let them work if it perceives a problem. No need for fuses on these circuits.

Check the harness with a DMM at the location where you started the mods. If you still have no power there, disconnect the battery and let your bike sit for at least 10 minutes.

A little late of a post but I figured out what the issue was as soon as I got my hands on a multimeter. I was getting a constant power to the socket but no taillight.. Here's what happened, when I was installing the fender kit, the rear bullets got new dual filament internals. Me and my buddy were ridiculously hungover and he took it upon himself to adjust the alignment of the contacts on the socket suggesting they were "backwards".. long story short, the bulb was only making contact with one of the wires, hence I was only getting brake/turn and no tail. TA-DAA

I was glad it was a silly mistake and was easily corrected. Moral of the story, don't overlook what you suspect is too silly or small to be the cause of an issue.

I would think the moral of the story would be something about drinking too much, the night before an install.

Glad to hear it worked out, though.
