Default Help Deciding on an Air Cleaner

I am updating my cleaner on my 2009 FXDC. I currently have the bike in for a custom paint (see below, I posted a picture of the one finished part) Almost every other part of my bike is chrome, so I thought maybe on the air cleaner going with the Kury Mach 2 in black and chrome mine accent the bikes paint job well.

I know I want the Kury Mach 2, in my case where the pipes, primary, switch housings, interface kit, handlebars, derby, points, transmission covers are all chrome.

Would you go with the little bit of black or stick the straight chrome. I understand that it is all preference but I am having a hard time deciding. See pictures below.

am in the same boat... been looking for weeks.. am tempted to just get a plain old stage one kit and use my stock cover... at least till i decide what to get... ive seen some pics where it looks like just a backing plate and a round exposed filter with some cool looking plate bolted to the outside... simple and probably not too expensive... kinda liked one i saw in the hd catalog, a chromed billet cover with a nice shape to it... just the cover is 219.00, get the little medallion to go in the center and that's another 39.00... stage one kit not included...kinda pricey...

as to your choice in the two.. i like the black/chrome... the solid chrome is just too much... tho i think it would look better with the screen section blacked out, just to cut the chrome back a little...

You can get a K&N Street Metal intake for around a buck fifty. I like how K&N has the dyno charts posted on their website. Prolly for your exact bike, too...

Here's some pics of my FB...sounds like the complete opposite of your bike, I have denim black and wanted to "shadow" the AC that was all chrome, but maybe these can help you decide.

If the cylinders on your bike are black I prefer the second choice. My reasoning is the tires, battery box and frame are black so a little more black, accented with chrome, will look great. You asked, so that's my 2 cents.

Agree with Antonio *****. Black and chrome engine or grey engine would make the decision for me.
